At The Rebuild Site, we want to make it easy for contractors to avoid putting usable materials in the skip.

No one wants to purchase more materials than they need for a job. But long lead in times, tight programmes, allowance for some breakages, clients changing scope and having to order full packs means, at the moment, it’s almost inevitable. And at the end of the job there isn’t an easy way to deal with the surplus in a sustainable way. Sometimes it can go to the next site and often it gets stored in the yard ‘just in case’ but we all know that a large amount of usable material ends up in a skip.

SOCIAL IMPACT

We also understand how important sustainability and social impact is for you and your clients. Recycling materials from site not only helps the environment but can help your business win work by scoring on social value questions that are tough to measure in your day to day business.

Many public sector clients now use the Social Value Portal and National TOMs to score contractors for their social value input and Rebuild can provide evidence to support you in the following measures:

  • #NT14 Total amount (£) spent with VCSE’s within your supply chain
  • #NT16 Equipment or resources donated to VCSE’s (£ equivalent value)
  • #NT35 Percentage of procurement contracts that include sustainable commitments
  • #NT50 Innovative measures to promote local skills and employment while minimising carbon footprint
  • #NT53 Innovative measures to help safeguard the environment
