Volunteers & Work Experience

Volunteering

Our team of regular volunteers join us every week to help out in the shops, maintain tools and work on DIY projects. No two days are the same and we have a wide range of tasks and things to do. Such as processing paint, helping customers, organising stock, sorting tools, helping in the community space, creating marketing material, helping with collections and deliveries and more.

We also welcome corporate volunteer days. Either an individual who wants to use their volunteer day to do something a bit different or full team corporate volunteer days focused on a project. In fact, we couldn’t have managed without a small army from businesses like Sunbelt, Sir Robert McAlpine and Story Contracting when we have had big tasks on like opening the tool library and moving to a larger depot. There’s always plenty to do, it’s fun and welcoming and you’ll learn a lot about sustainability and community impact. It also supports your businesses CSR priorities. Get in touch to find out more.

If you would like to find out more, you can email  info@rebuildsite.co.uk or pop in during opening hours to have a chat.

Work Experience

We also offer work experience placements throughout the year, including Duke of Edinburgh placements and are delighted to be a part of the Centre for Leadership Performance Dream Placement programme. Work experience placements typically are 3-4 days and include working in shop, learning about sustainability and circular economy, helping produce social media content and helping with events and community projects.

At Rebuild, we believe work experience should be practical, varied and worthwhile. Whether you’re considering a career in construction, sustainability, retail, logistics or the charity sector, we aim to give you a genuine insight into how a social enterprise operates. This isn’t a placement where you’ll spend the week making cups of tea or sitting behind a desk. Work experience placements typically are 3-4 days and include working in shop, learning about sustainability and circular economy, helping produce social media content and helping with events and community projects. Some of the work is hands-on and can be a bit dusty or dirty, so you’ll need to come dressed for practical work and be ready to get involved.

A circular economy is restorative and regenerative by design, and aims to keep products, components, and materials looping at their highest utility and value at all times. The Rebuild Site brings together contractors, organisations and individuals to create a circular economy ecosystem.
