Repair Fair

26th September 2026

Fix it. Sharpen it. Make something. Have a cuppa.

We’re kicking off something new at Rebuild, and you’re invited!

Join us for our Repair Fair, a relaxed, hands on day celebrating all things repair, reuse, creativity and keeping good stuff going for longer.

This special event is the pilot for our brand new monthly Repair Café, giving us a chance to put everything into practice, learn as we go and give you a taste of what’s to come as we build a regular space for sharing skills, fixing things and bringing our community together.

Our Repair Café project has been made possible thanks to funding from The National Lottery Community Fund, thanks to National Lottery players.

Whether you’ve got something that needs a little TLC, a tool that’s seen better days, fancy getting creative or simply want to come for coffee, cake and a nosy around, there’ll be plenty happening throughout the day.

🔧 THE REPAIR CAFÉ

Got something broken, wobbly, torn or just not quite working as it should?

Bring it along and see whether our lovely team of volunteer repairers can help give it a new lease of life.

The Repair Café is all about repairing rather than replacing, sharing practical skills and showing just how much life might still be left in the things we already own.

You can watch, ask questions and hopefully learn a thing or two along the way too!

Repairs are made in exchange for a donation. There’s no need to book, but you will need to sign your item in when you arrive.

Got a special skill you’d be willing to volunteer at one of our future Repair Cafés? We’d love to hear from you! Get in touch at community@rebuildsite.co.uk.

🪚 TOOL SHARPENING

Give those tired tools a new edge!

Bring along your blunt garden tools and hand tools and have them sharpened while you explore the rest of the fair.

A simple bit of maintenance can completely transform an old tool and help keep it working for years to come.

🧩 MAKE A MOSAIC COASTER

Have a go at turning scraps into something lovely.

Drop in and make your own mosaic coaster, using reclaimed and leftover materials wherever possible.

No experience needed. Just sit down, get creative and make something to take home with you.

☕ COFFEE, CAKE & GOOD CONVERSATION

Because no good community gathering is complete without a cuppa.

Grab a coffee and a slice of cake, pull up a chair and stay for a chat.

You absolutely do not need to bring something to repair to come along. The Repair Fair is for anyone who is curious about repair, reuse, making and sustainability, or simply fancies spending a few hours somewhere friendly.

♻️ A LITTLE LESS THROWING AWAY. A LOT MORE MAKING DO, MENDING & SHARING SKILLS.

Come along, bring something that needs a little love, have a go at something new and help us celebrate the beginning of the Rebuild Repair Café.

Everyone is welcome. Drop in for five minutes or spend the day with us.

Bringing something for repair?

Please have a quick read before you come along:

One item per person.

Items are brought to the Repair Café at the owner’s own risk.

Our organisers and volunteer repairers cannot guarantee that an item can be fixed or that a repair will last. We cannot accept responsibility for accidental damage during a repair, subsequent loss, damage or injury following a repair, or loss of belongings while at the Repair Café.

Our repairers may choose not to attempt a repair for safety or other practical reasons. In some circumstances, an item may need to be taken apart and cannot be reassembled if it is found to be unsafe or beyond repair.

All items must be taken home with you, whether we manage to repair them or not.

Children are very welcome, but must remain the responsibility of their accompanying adult. Please be aware that tools and equipment will be in use throughout the Repair Café.

We cannot accept:

Items with large battery packs, including e-bikes and scooters
Microwaves
Safety equipment, including children’s car seats
Disability or medical equipment, including hoists and wheelchairs
Electric blankets
Power tools or high wattage electrical items

Thank you to National Lottery players for helping us bring repair, reuse and practical skills back into the heart of our community. 💚
