The Rebuild Site Shortlisted for Two National Green Awards

The Rebuild Site has been shortlisted in two categories at the Green Awards UK 2026, recognising our work to reduce construction waste and demonstrate how the circular economy can deliver real environmental and community impact.

We have been shortlisted for:

  • Green Micro Enterprise of the Year
  • The Excellence in Waste Management Award

The Green Awards UK celebrate organisations leading the way in environmental innovation and sustainability across the UK.

For a small team based in Carlisle, being recognised nationally in two categories is a significant achievement. Since launching in 2021, Rebuild has worked to keep surplus construction materials in use, preventing them from becoming waste while making them available to communities, charities, schools, contractors and individuals who can put them to good use.

Over the past year, we’ve continued to expand our flagship reuse hub, develop new partnerships across the construction industry and support more than 280 community initiatives since we began. Alongside the environmental benefits of reducing waste and extending the life of construction materials, this work has helped community organisations complete projects that might otherwise never have happened.

Emma Porter, Founder and CEO of The Rebuild Site, said:

“We’re absolutely delighted to have been shortlisted in two national categories. As a small organisation, it’s incredibly encouraging to see our work recognised alongside organisations from across the UK.

Everything we do is built around a simple idea – that materials shouldn’t be treated as waste while they still have value. Being shortlisted is recognition not only of our team, but also of the contractors, partners, volunteers and community organisations who work with us to prove that there is a better way of managing surplus construction materials. It’s not waste!”

The winners will be announced at the Green Awards UK ceremony later this year at the Park Plaza in London.

We’d like to thank everyone who has supported Rebuild over the past five years. This recognition belongs to all of the organisations, volunteers, customers and communities who have helped turn our vision into reality.
