Rebuild Attend Futurebuild 2026

Last week, Debbie and Emma (Rebuild’s directors) spent three days at Futurebuild 2026, joining conversations with people from across the circular economy, sustainability and construction sectors.

The event was a great opportunity to step back from the day-to-day running of Rebuild and spend time learning more about the bigger picture, from the latest research and ideas through to the practical challenges facing the construction industry as it works towards a more circular future.

One of the highlights for the team was seeing just how many people from across the UK already know about our work here at Rebuild in Carlisle. It was encouraging to have so many positive conversations about construction reuse, social impact and the growing role reuse hubs can play within the industry.

The discussions throughout the week also reinforced how important practical, solution-focused work is. While the scale of the sustainability and climate challenge can often feel overwhelming, events like Futurebuild show that more organisations are actively looking for realistic, collaborative ways to reduce waste and create positive impact.

We even managed to get a photo with George Clarke and gave him a quick explanation of what Rebuild is all about in the hope that one day ‘George Clarke’s Amazing Spaces’ is looking for a community focused construction reuse hub!
