We were proud to be named joint winners alongside Netherby Hall and Go Low Carbon, recognising a range of approaches to environmental sustainability across the region. The award recognises organisations making a positive environmental impact, and it’s encouraging to see construction reuse and circular economy work acknowledged in this way.

For us, this award reflects the work our team, volunteers, contractors, and supporters who all play a part in keeping materials in use and making practical change happen. The judges were interested in evidence of impact, practicing what we preach, innovation, education and engagement and keeping the green spirit alive. It is the first time the judges have awarded three winners in a category, which is testament to the quality of finalists and to the high regard the judges had for all three organisations.

Since starting in 2021, Rebuild has focused on finding simple, workable ways to prevent usable materials from going to waste, while creating opportunities for community projects, training, and learning.

This award joins our impressive award cabinet including a UK Green Award, a ECO-I NW Award for Innovation, a BBC Radio Cumbria Make a Difference Award, an in-Cumbria Business Award and a Cumbria Social Enterprise Award for Innovation!
